Palo Santo
Palo Santo, literally meaning “holy wood” in Spanish, is a tree that is widely distributed throughout Central and South America. Palo Santo is used in South America in much the same way as White Ceremonial Sage is used in North America- to combat negative energy and to cleanse the space and yourself. Palo Santo is different than many of the other smudging materials as it is fragrant in its raw form and does not necessarily need to be lit, though it usually is when being used for ceremonial purposes.
To Smudge: Light one end of the Palo Santo. Place in abalone shell or other heat resistant plate. Fan the smoke over yourself with intention. Then walk the perimeter of any space, making sure to fan the smoke in every corner. After you are finished, press the stick into the bottom of the receptacle to extinguish. Open your doors and windows to allow the smoke to carry the negative energy outside and away.
Sustainably harvested in Ecuador.
I needed more sage and palo santo and came across this company through a friend’s instagram story. I ordered 2 blue sage bundles and a palo santo bundle with amythest and I couldn’t be happier. I could feel that everything from the packaging to the products were infused with love and thoughtfulness. Truly an honour to use these beautiful tools in my practice.
A weekly sage & palo santo smudge keeps the good vibes in :)
