April Forecast

What to expect in the month of April!

It's always good to get a heads up on the energies each month so we can work with them as best as possible. We shift into April, the first month in the Astrological new year, bringing the first retrograde and eclipse as well as the first month of Spring. This month is filled with optimism, new opportunities, excitement, new beginnings and beneficial changes. This is an opportunity to focus and hone your energy on what your heart truly desires as the cosmic forces are on your side. April gets its name from the Latin word “aperio”, meaning “to open'' as everything begins to blossom this month. This month is all about new beginnings, rebirth, finding balance and honing your skills to elevate your in alignment with your higher vibration. This month has many astrological events in both Western and Eastern astrology but I would have to write an actual book in order to discuss all of them, so I will touch on the most eventful ones in this article.

As April marks the first month of Spring it is very symbolic in many ways including April's birthstone being the Diamond. The Diamond is known to amplify your thoughts, supporting you in creating new beginnings as well as a crystal of clearing and restoring balance in the body, mind and Soul. Diamonds are created through intense pressure, leading to their brilliance and beauty. The numerology aspects of April hold the vibration of number 4, which is governed by the planet  Mercury (which will be our 1st retrograde planet of 2023 this month). Number 4 is about stability and balance for the Spiritual, emotional, physical as well as mental. It relates to grounding into conscientiousness, strength, stability and rooting yourself in self empowerment while feeling secure in who you are. Number 4 also relates to the th card in Tarot which is the Emperor. This card represents stability, security, being in charge of your own life, healthy boundaries while building a successful foundation for yourself and loved ones. 4 is related to the North Node, your Soul's journey towards your highest purpose this lifetime, offering incite to the things you have the ability to reach supported by the help of others and your spirit team.

We also continue to have the conjunction of Venus with the North Node of destiny in Taurus which began March 16th. The Romans celebrated Venus, Goddess of Love, fertility and beauty also in relation to Aphrodite the Greek Goddess of Love. Venus enters Taurus (Venus is Taurus ruling Planet) and will end her transit with him on April 11th. Venus represents desires, love, union and partnership and with her conjunction with Taurus it is a time of self-love and compassion towards others, clearing all that is not in alignment with unconditional love making room for relationships that add to our own happiness. This transit has been especially audacious for our Earth signs as it empowers their ability to overcome and let go of negative connections. So take this time before April 11th to incorporate self-love, self-care and much needed time to refuel and rejuvenate, so you will have the infinite overflow of unconditional love to share with others. We also have Jupiter conjunct with Chiron in Aries, ending April 11th guiding us in deeper knowledge and understanding in healing and traditional medicines. Although Chiron is not considered a planet (closer to an asteroid or comet), and was part of Venus and Jupiter dance in the sky. Through this connection we continue to learn what outdated patterns need to be released as we have been engaging on this deep inner journey. We will also be able to see the alignment of Mercury, Uranus, Venus and Mars in the sky April 11th and April 24th. Venus will also share a connection with Neptune on April 7th following the full Moon in Libra. Neptune is the planet of inspiration, intensifies intuition, purifies, fantastical and rules watery Pisces. This alignment pushes us to achieve higher ideals, Venus through the adoption of beauty, passion and love adding Neptunes limitlessness, higher spiritual connection and unconditional love. Their meeting is other-wordly, romantic and amplifies the imagination creating a powerful time for visualization practices. ng everything that it touches, Jupiter will magnify the need to face, process, and integrate our shadow. By focusing on healing our past now, .

But let's start at the beginning with April 1st, April fools day!

April 1st (known as April fools day), although no evidence clarifies why or when it began although there are many theories. This day is supposed to be about lighthearted practical jokes and tomfoolery. Because this day marks 13 weeks after the calendar new year, it incites a certain desire for change and fun coming out of the Winter months. We also have Palm Sunday, the Sunday before Easter and the last Sunday of Lent for those who observe it. April 5th is the beginning of Passover, April 7th is good Friday and April 9th is Easter Sunday.

Mercury enters the Earthy sign of Taurus on April 3rd until June 11th influencing the way we think and communicate. Taurus is a fixed sign and can be rigid in taking positions (practicality), becoming inflexible in keeping an open mind and sticking to the practical which will limit your perspective and the bigger picture. This transit can bring attention to the material and if not careful can block the ways in which you can achieve your goals if seen as impractical or fantastical. As this transit happens a few days before the full moon, take time to ensure you are not being rigid in how to proceed with new ideas, ventures or personal growth. Taking responsibility for yourself, your actions, emotions, feelings as well as how you treat yourself and others will place limitations on your expansion.

April 6th, we have the first full moon of Spring (known as the Paschal full moon; first full moon of Spring), in the Northern hemisphere (coming out of the darkness into light) and is most commonly known as The Pink Moon in western society. The Libra full moon encourages us to focus on embracing harmony and balance in relationships as well as within. This may be felt more deeply as we will already be feeling the shadow of both the total Solar Eclipse (April 20th) and Mercury retrograde (April 21st). Fiery Aries is sparking our desires and driving our awakening into overdrive as we remain in Aries season until April 19th which adds an extra push for us to find balance. We are asked to find the balance of Air and Fire in order to utilize their power for our highest good. Aries fiery energy (ruled by Mars), has natural born leadership qualities, confidence and the drive to get things done when aligned. Adding Libras (ruled by Venus) diplomatic, kind, peace keeping energy, gives us the support to lovingly balance what is in service to our highest good and what is not. The other side can be Aries fire, if unbalanced, can be reckless, impatient and short tempered which can get blown out of proportion with an unbalanced Libra energy. Libras, when unbalanced, are intolerant, spiteful, lazy and manipulative, bringing a very unstable energy under this full moon. This energy of Aries and Libra can be a harmonious alignment especially with their ruling planets being Mars (Divine masculine, action, desire, sexuality) and Venus (Divine feminine, harmony, love, relationships), but must overcome the unhealed ego to do so. The higher vibrational energy of this Libra moon offers a time to settle issues, be still, use compassion for self and others, speak from your heart and find harmony to see a deeper truth. We may feel a deep desire to balance our lives as full moons illuminate unresolved conflicts, hence why it is so important to work WITH the energy of April's full moon. Finding genuine freedom from inner and outer conflict as we focus more on our healing path.

On April 11 Venus leaves earthy Taurus and enters another earthy sign, Gemini (ruled by Mercury).  This transit feeds our desires to try new things, tap into our passion and live the good life. We want intellectual stimulation to expand our minds and connect with new people who have a higher vibration. We will strive to connect and improve the lines of communication with those in our lives.

On April 19th/20th, we will have a total Solar Eclipse and new moon in Aries. New moons are generally for manifesting and setting intentions, but as she is joined by the Eclipse, it is best to be present, work to expand your energy through going within and your alignment with your highest self. Eclipses trigger personal and worldly events which will be supercharged by the new moon vibes. This perfect alignment of the Sun and Moon is a powerful time for stillness, unity, spiritual work illuminating your inner truths, bringing our attention inwards once again. This will push us to focus on our authentic selves guiding us to necessary growth, while reevaluating our relationship with ourselves in order to achieve self mastery and self empowerment.  A Solar Eclipse is about both death and rebirth, leaving behind old cycles creating room for the new. Breaking away from what was, what has not been working, and finding balance in allowing new energy to enter. This cosmic alignment comes the day after the first Mercury retrograde of the year. Mercury retrogrades in the fixed Earth sign,Taurus, which is about recognizing patterns (healthy and unhealthy), and rules communication, technology and can affect how we process information. As this Retrograde happens in Taurus it will challenge you to be flexible in reassessing your old belief systems and will be most felt by Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn, so make sure you have taken time to do that inner work before April 20th. Retrogrades offer us a chance to pause, slow down and reflect, stillness is key. Giving us time to review, renew, reassess and refocus in the areas of our life ruled by that Taurus. Eclipses activate both the North and South Nodes of destiny (Lunar Nodes). The North Node represents the future; your destiny and karmic path, what your higher purpose is in this life, what lessons you came to learn, what you need in order to fulfill your Soul’s purpose, and what you are capable of achieving in this life. The South Node represents the past; karmic energies you were born with (both personal and ancestral), wisdom/knowledge from past lives,  gifts you have brought forward from the past (things you excel at and passionate about), a point of power to help fully engages with your North Node (destiny). The Nodes shift onto the Aries/Libra axis for the first time in 9 years, 9 symbolizes wisdom, experience, awakening, endings, spiritual lessons and is one of the most powerful numbers in numerology (search theory of Nikola Tesla 369). This adds an extra layer of zing to this celestial event and offers more to the already powerful creation energies supporting massive change.

**We will be feeling this energy as the shadow period begins right around the time of the full moon April 5th. This Solar Eclipse energy will be active until October when we will experience another Solar Eclipse. Make sure you are working with this energy as it will set your rhythm over the next few months. All Mercury retrogrades this year occur in Earth signs (Capricorn, Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn), delving into great change and coming away from a limited mindset. We must remember the journey is our destination!

It is important to know where the Planets are located in your birthchart in order to utilize these energies for your benefit, especially with the Eclipse and new moon activating the Nodes. We have been on a continuous ride of high vibrational ascension energies entering our planet and every living begin and it has challenged all of us to do some deep inner work. Take some time to do your research and tap into the high vibrations coming forward as they will be getting stronger and more powerful. Check out our blogs and EBooks for more information on a number of topics. As we have been challenged and can feel a rollercoaster of emotions it's important to take care of your overall well-being and have your healing tools in place.

*It's extremely important to use your healthy toolbox in order to prepare for the days you feel the blahs. What do you enjoy doing? Have a mental (or journal or schedule), plan for the times you feel the ick sneaking in. Generally I teach my clients about ways to plan and what they can put in their proverbial bunker in support of self empowerment.

Listed below are a few tools:

    • Call on your circle of trust (those 1 to 3 people who you truly trust) The ones you know who understand you and who have the ability to help lift your spirits or simply listen without judgment. We must remember we cannot help others by suffering with them. If you are feeling the blues and start talking about all the things you view as “bad/wrong” in your life, your circle will be the ones to point out the “good/positive” in your life. To hold space for you to communicate, release and give you the space to express what you are feeling. The ones who will hold the optimism rather than jump on the misery train with you. Sometimes it's a simple I love you and you're not alone or a swift kick in the ass to let them know they are wallowing. But at the end of the day it's all based on trust and a healthy relationship with your circle, give and take and authenticity. Who is your circle of trust?
    • Have a playlist of your favorite uplifting music/movies/shows, a list of your favorite uplifting books, new healthy recipes you want to try, things you've been waiting to try ie: skating, making snow angels, volunteering at a shelter or nursing home, even being neighborly and shoveling someones driveway. If you are crafty or would like to be, try creating some artwork , whether it's painting, drawing, poetry, journaling, a book of memoirs, what ever you feel drawn to.There are many ways in which we can make positive uplifting choices with an added benefit of possibly helping others if we are so inclined to do so. What are some of your favorite uplifting songs, activities, books, movies?
    • Create a video journal while you are in good spirits. Talk to yourself like you would a friend, even record it with a friend. Remind yourself of your strengths, all you have to be grateful for, the things you admire most about yourself, be your own cheerleader, guru and express how proud you are of yourself.  There is a drastic unequivocal difference between being cocky/arrogant and confident/self aware, so it is important to understand your feeling and expressing to yourself you are friggin amazing is self love.
  • What self love/self care actions do you take for yourself? Remember self love/self care is anything from a shower meditation to going for a massage, to mirror work, to reading a book, using things you may be waiting to use for a special occasion. There are a plethora of ways to incorporate self love/self care in your life and it's important to know what that looks like for you. It can be simple or extravagant, whatever feels good to you.
  • Take your vitamins. Vitamin D, Magnesium, Zinc,, vitamin B3 (niacin), vitamin C to help your body. Eating a balanced diet is always best and you can add fruits and herbs to your water to help as well. Moderate exercise, walking, stretching, Tai Chi, yoga, breathing exercises, anything that includes movement is an extremely healthy addition to your day. What can you add to your day to help your body?

  • A few helpful crystals and herbs for the Full Moon in Libra:

Sodalite, Pink Tourmaline, Amethyst, Rose Quartz, Moonstone, Opal, Clear Quartz, Ametrine, Tigers eye, Lepidolite

Herbs/Essential Oils: Yarrow, Calendula, Rosemary, Mugward, Vanilla, Basil

A few helpful crystals and herbs for the New Moon and Solar Eclipse in Aries: **It is advised not to charge your crystals during a new moon accompanied by a Solar Eclipse**

Shungite, Citrine, Clear Quartz, Crazy Lace Agate, Red Jasper, Black Moonstone, Red Aventurine, Black Obsidian, Gold Sheen Obsidian, Amazonite

Herbs/Essential Oils: Sage, Geranium, Dragons Blood, Lemon Balm, Honeysuckle, Jasmine, Black pepper

    Don't forget your affirmations:

Remember, be extra mindful during the new moon/Solar Eclipse as it is not a time for manifesting

I have cleared all obstacles in my way.

I leave what no longer serves me behind and align with Source love.

I left behind what no longer serves me.

I embrace the empowerment offered through every experience in life.

I remain fearless on my journey home to unconditional love.

I continue to walk my path to my full awakening.

I no longer allow anything to pull me away from who I am now.

I can clearly see the path towards my highest vibration.

I feel gratitude and appreciation for all I have.

I have released all attachments and 3D programming.

I trust that great things await in the shadows for the Divine timing to illuminate them.

Everything I need comes to me easily and effortlessly.

Patience brings me into recognition of and alignment to my highest purpose.

All my needs are met even though I may not see them in the outer world I open my heart in receiving.

*Remember everything we do is about intention so be mindful of what you are using your energy for (directing your energy towards), when working with the moon energies. Full moons are wonderful to celebrate and reflect on how far you have come, releasing all that no longer serves you, understanding what lies beneath emotions/feelings/actions, seeing from a higher perspective and practicing gratitude.

It's important to remember we feel the Moon's energy 3 days before and 3 days after the celestial event takes place (both of Full and New Moons).

You can charge and clear your stones under this full moon by placing them outside or on a windowsill in the light of the moon. You can also make moon water with both the full and new moon energies. Simply place a glass container of water (spring water or even lake water are best), in a place where the light of the moon will shine on the container (as temperatures are cold be careful as glass will break, can place out for a couple of hours before midnight or leave in a windowsill inside overnight). You can use colored glass for an extra umph if you want to use the water for specific things. I make moon water when I am working with certain chakras ie: orange glass for sacral. If you are using spring water or distilled water you can drink it or add it to your bathwater for a spiritual bath. I have used a blue glass container when working with my throat chakra to support speaking my truth and drink a shot of it each morning. You can use moon water in anointing candles, empowering crystal energy, place on an altar, spritz your face with some to help clarity, drip a few drops in your palms when using mudras, drip a few drops on your crown chakra or 3D eye for a deeper meditation, get creative and use it for whatever you feel beneficial.

**It's not advised to make moon water or charge crystal under certain full moons ie: when there is an eclipse

Please remember to set yourself up for success and use your healthy tools to help keep you balanced and aligned. We all have our ups and downs but the more we prepare and have a game plan in order to work with the down days, the more we empower ourselves for our highest good.

We are still in deep ascension energies which play a huge role in how we are feeling and how we work with the energies at hand.
